Paterson Project, Western Australia
The Paterson Copper Project is located ~250km north-east of Newman within the Paterson Province of Western Australia. It consists of the Gunanya and Madley projects which cover an area of ~200km² and are targeting large scale copper-gold mineralisation similar to that found at the recent discoveries of Winu and Havieron.
The Paterson Province which hosts large gold and copper deposits at Telfer and Nifty is widely regarded as one of Australia’s current exploration “hot spots”.
The areas are totally covered by desert sand and young sediments making drilling an essential part of the exploration process. Initial reconnaissance drilling at Gunanya failed to explain the cause of at least one of the magnetic anomalies tested as drilling had to be stopped above target depth. Prospective stratigraphy (Mundadjini Formation), similar to the sediments that host copper and gold mineralisation elsewhere in the Paterson, were intersected by this drilling.
Further work is currently being planned at the Gunanya and Madley tenements to confirm new drilling targets.
The company is currently exploring within Australia & Peru and holds in excess of 5,000 km² of exploration title (granted tenements and tenement applications).
